Mission StatementTo be the independent, industry-directed catastrophe model service provider for Oasis-based models, enabling choice.

Choice

Access 300+ models from ~20 independent providers. Never be limited to one set of vendor models again.

Efficiency

Lean, non-profit structure focused on service delivery. AWS cloud-native infrastructure keeps costs low and performance high.

Independence

Members control the company through annual subscriptions. Industry ownership by model users - ensures the platform serves your interests.

Profitability

Multi-model approaches deliver measurable advantages worth tens of millions annually for mid-sized insurers through superior risk selection.

About Oasis SaaSOasis SaaS is an industry-owned, vendor-neutral platform providing independent access to catastrophe models.

Operating as a non-profit company, we’re focused on delivering efficient service rather than maximising profit.
Our mission is simple: preserve choice and independence in catastrophe modelling through a platform controlled by its users.

Industry-owned & member-controlled

Members — primarily re/insurers and brokers — control the company. A selection of members are invited to become directors and board members.

Protected from acquisition risk

Company members would have to agree to any acquisition — and members are the exact entities for whom an acquisition would have no benefit.

Flexible model licensing

License models either through Oasis SaaS or directly with model vendors — the choice is always yours.

Why Oasis SaaS?The case for multi-model access - and how independent infrastructure makes it possible.

The Business Case

Model uncertainty often exceeds natural catastrophe uncertainty at the tail — exactly where capital requirements are set. Multi-model approaches provide intelligence about where risks are poorly understood and where competitive advantage can be gained.

Sophisticated underwriting enabled by multi-model approaches delivers substantial advantages in loss ratio performance — worth tens of millions annually for mid-sized insurers.

Identify opportunities

Use knowledge of model (dis)agreement to improve underwriting

Avoid surprises

Multiple models provide more complete coverage and avoid unwitting accumulations

Quality of risk selection

The difference between market leaders and laggards isn't technology spend — it's the quality of risk selection that multi-model diversity enables

How it WorksEnterprise grade technology built on proven, scalable infrastructure.

The Technology Stack

Built on AWS cloud-native architecture with fourTheorem as our specialist service provider, Oasis SaaS uses elastic scaling to deliver major performance gains over legacy systems. The platform enables the full range of Oasis APIs via a scalable AWS-based service.

Initially, users access Oasis-based models via Moody's Intelligent Risk Platform (IRP) — although access will not ultimately be limited to only IRP. This means IRP users get the full flexibility of Oasis models combined with Moody's platform breadth.

The Ecosystem

Oasis SaaS becomes a critical ecosystem partner within the broader Oasis framework — joining model providers, platform integrators, and technology partners in creating genuine choice. We're not replacing the ecosystem, we're strengthening it.

Who can be a member of Oasis SaaS Ltd?

To ensure independence, members will be the prime users of the service — initially from re/insurance companies and brokers who will pay an annual subscription fee. A selection of members will be invited to become directors and board members of Oasis SaaS Ltd.

Initially users will access only via Moody’s Intelligent Risk Platform (IRP) — although access will not ultimately be limited to only IRP. A service contract with Oasis SaaS is always required to initiate access to Oasis-based models through Moody’s.

Company members would have to agree to any acquisition, and members will be comprised of people and represent entities for whom an acquisition would have no benefit — the model users themselves. This structure makes independence self-reinforcing.

The aim is to provide an efficient service, fulfilling the mission of giving as many organisations as possible a choice of Oasis-based models. While the service must be sustainable, the primary goal is not profit — and so the corporate structure reflects this. This means costs can remain focused on service delivery, not shareholder returns.

Customers will not be able to license Oasis-based models through Moody’s directly. A service contract with Oasis SaaS is always required. Once in place, customers can choose to license models either via Oasis SaaS or directly with the model vendor — the choice is yours.

Oasis SaaS will be operational in the first half of 2026.
The service is independent from major catastrophe modelling platform providers and is agnostic to the pool of around 20 model providers who use the Oasis framework. No single vendor can influence the platform’s direction — governance rests with member users.
